I was very close to it. It hangs by my relatives' back door. They're treating it with reverence (as they should). They've learned the wasps will eventually abandon it so they're not taking action. With no little kids around, I'm glad they can do that.

What a beautiful structure. Is it all made out of paper?
Sort of. The wasps have been eating bits of wood from the fence and making it into cellulose for their nest.
